Former German star Lothar Matthaus believes that Mesut Ozil could end his career in the national team after this World Cup.
According to him, the London "Arsenal" midfielder does not identify himself with the national team and generally does not understand how its fans feel.
The 29-year-old footballer has already faced a wave of criticism after Germany's defeat to Mexico, and Matthaus has now exacerbated the situation.
"I often feel that Ozil feels uncomfortable in the German national team jersey, he is not free and almost does not want to play", - the 1990 World Cup winner wrote in the newspaper "Bild". "There is no heart, no joy, no passion."
