Former German national team captain Lothar Matthaus claims that Lukas Podolski pays too much attention to social media and urged the footballer to prove his ability on the field instead.
The 29-year-old striker should soon move from London's Arsenal, where he hardly gets any playing time, to Milan's Inter. In the ranks of the Gunners, the German did not start a single Premier League match this season.
Podolski has played 121 matches for his national team and this summer won the World Cup with them, but Matthaus says that in recent years the striker has not achieved much.
"Lukas has talent; now he needs to prove it by returning to the field," - said the German legend to Sky.
"In the past, we saw him write more tweets than play matches. He must focus on football."
The player himself responded to the former national team captain on Twitter, writing: "It's very funny that Matthaus gives precise advice on how to behave."
