On Saturday, the Argentina national team secured a crucial victory in Group C (2:0) against Mexico.
Lionel Scaloni's team triumphed after goals from Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez, which came in the second half.
L. Messi put his team ahead in the 64th minute. The 35-year-old forward spoke about the match:
"The first half was tough because of the situation, the need to fight for 3 points. We couldn't find spaces. In the second half, we started to control the ball longer, found spaces where we could score, the ball was closer to the penalty area.
"I think at certain times, especially in the second half, we returned to our best form. Now, before Poland, we need to continue what we started."
In the 87th minute, Argentina's victory was sealed with a fantastic goal by Benfica's center-back Enzo Fernandez. PSG forward had this to say about his young teammate in the Argentina national team:
"I'm not surprised by Enzo, I know him well and see him every day in training. He deserves it, as he is a wonderful player.
"Enzo is very important for us players, I am very happy for him," beautifully commented Lionel Messi about the 21-year-old defender.
