Young talent, Argentine Lionel Messi, did not hide his joy about being invited to the Argentine national team for friendly matches against Hungary.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper was recently a star of the U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands, and his excellent performance caught the attention of the Argentine national team coaching staff, who invited him to represent his country in the friendly matches against the Hungarian team in Budapest on August 17.
"I am very happy and feel honored to be invited to my country's national team," Messi told the Barcelona website. "After the U-20 World Cup, people were talking about the possibility of me being invited, but I didn't believe it until I personally received the confirmation."
"This is a big step forward in my career - playing for the Argentine national team is something I have dreamed of since childhood," added the young Barcelona star with joy.
