Argentinian football star Lionel Messi asked his agents to organize a meeting with representatives of "Barcelona" club to peacefully settle his departure issues, writes lrytas.lt. According to the Catalan newspaper "El Periodico", the 33-year-old football player does not want a war with the club, which he represented for 16 years and which raised him when he arrived from Argentina. On Tuesday, L. Messi dropped a bombshell by announcing that he is using the opportunity to unilaterally terminate his current contract and not play the upcoming season. However, this decision is hanging in the air, as the contract stipulated this possibility until June 10, and the Argentine believes that due to the pandemic, this right has been extended until the end of August.

Facing the threat of drowning in legal battles, L. Messi wants to make a graceful settlement with the club to avoid damaging his image. However, the club's executives do not want to consider Messi's departure at the moment. According to "Marca", negotiations are only possible for extending the contract. Radio station COPE reported that "Barcelona" president Josep Maria Bartomeu will not agree to the player's demands and will show anyone interested in acquiring him the section of the contract stating that the release clause is 700 million euros.

However, the player himself gives the impression that he has made up his mind and can no longer envision himself with the "Barcelona" jerseys. It is said that his agents have already reached an agreement for a personal contract with "Manchester City", which promised a salary of about 50 million euros.
