Lionel Messi improved another record Tuesday night. The Argentine scored his 644th goal in a match against "Valladolid" and surpassed Pele's record, who had scored 643 goals for one club. The legendary Pele scored 643 goals in 665 matches representing the "Santos" club, while L. Messi needed 749 matches to achieve the new record. "When I started playing football, I did not expect that I would break a record like this, especially since it is a number for Pele," Messi wrote on his social media. The forward first appeared in the "Barcelona" club in 2004 at the age of 17. Throughout his career at the club, he won 10 "La Liga" titles and triumphed in four Champions League finals.
