In the opening match of Group D, Argentina tried to defeat the World Cup debutant Iceland. The match ended in a draw, but L. Messi had the opportunity to expand the victory in the middle of the second half by converting a penalty kick.
"I feel responsible for these draws," - said the Argentinean slightly disappointed after the match.
