Lionel Messi's new chapter at Paris Saint-Germain can currently be interpreted in two ways. In the Champions League, the Argentine has already contributed to two very important victories for Parisians, but in the local Ligue 1 championship, the forward has yet to make a mark, not having made any assists or goals. In a recent interview with Spanish SPORT, Messi shared his thoughts on the Ligue 1 league, his former club, and records.
"I don't have much experience yet, as I haven't played many matches. It's more of a physical league, I think. The matches are tough and often played from one goal to another. There are many strong and fast players there. Physically, it's a big change," - said the Argentine about Ligue 1.
Regarding a possible return to Barcelona in the future: "A return to Barcelona? Yes, I have always said that I would like to help the club. One day I would like to be a sports director. I don't know if it will happen at Barça, but again, I would like to be helpful."
"No one from Barcelona asked me to play for free. I reduced my salary by 50% and was ready to help the club even more. President Joan Laporta's words were painful - I didn't deserve them," Messi responded to Laporta's comments that he expected the Argentine to play for free.
Messi also added: "There is no record that worries me. But I am grateful that I improved so many records at Barça, which will be difficult to surpass, and I hope that someone will eventually break them. Until then, it's wonderful to be part of the club's history."
