L. Messi insults C. Ronaldo: people are not blind and watch the game

On Monday in Zurich (Switzerland) a prestigious FIFA 2016 Best Player awards ceremony was held, during which the Player of the Year was announced, wrote lrytas.lt.

No major surprises happened - the award was received by the 31-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, a member of the Portuguese national team and the Madrid "Real" team. The best FIFA footballer was named by the head of the global organization Gianni Infantino. However, in his speech, the famous footballer mentioned Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

"I would like to thank the Portuguese national team, the Madrid "Real" team, my coach, my family who came here, my son, my mother, and my brothers. 2016 was the best year of my career, and the awards show that people are not blind and watch the matches. I won titles both with the national team and the club by demonstrating good individual play, so I cannot forget such wonderful year. Thank you to everyone who voted for me," said C. Ronaldo after receiving the award.

Finishing, he did not forget to mention his main opponent and the five-time best Player of the Year, Lionel Messi. The Portuguese did not name the Argentine, but it was clear what stone he was throwing at the "Barcelona" garden.

"It's a pity that some "Barcelona" players are not among us, but it can be understood. It can be understood why they are not here," said C. Ronaldo with a smile, as if implying that the elections were already predictable.
