Lionel Messi was honored once again.

On Saturday, the world champion was supposed to receive the presidential Freedom Medal at the White House – the highest possible award for an ordinary citizen.

However, Messi declined this honor for this time, as he had prior plans for that day.

The Argentine thanked graciously and stated that he would visit the White House next time he is in the USA.

The legendary footballer is currently resting, as it is the off-season in the MLS.
