L. Messi received good news from the Catalonia prosecutor's office

„Barcelona“ team leader Lionel Messi can breathe easier. The footballer, recovering from an injury, received good news from the Catalan prosecutor's office, which dropped the charges in the tax evasion case.

L. Messi was suspected of concealing 4.1 million euros in income tax between 2007-2009, earned through the use of his name and image.

However, the case is not closed, and the suspicions have been directed at L. Messi's father, Jorge Messi.

The prosecutor's office announced that L. Messi cannot be charged with tax evasion because it was not intentional. Nevertheless, due to L. Messi's age at the time and close relationship with his father, the suspect is specifically identified as the footballer's father.

Throughout his career, J. Messi was his son's agent, managing L. Messi's financial affairs.

Currently, L. Messi's father faces up to an 18-month prison sentence and a 2 million euro fine.
