"Barcelona" fans can be calm - Lionel Messi will take his final career steps at the "Camp Nou" stadium.
Speaking to Catalonia radio, the 32-year-old footballer revealed that he plans to end his career at "Barcelona" club, and he still has at least four years left to play.
"Every day it becomes clear that I want to finish my career here," said the Argentine.
"This club means a lot to me, but it is also where my family is happy. I don't want my children to have to travel somewhere and break ties with friends.
I already know the feeling of leaving Argentina and coming to Barcelona. I don't want them to experience the same. My family and I believe that we can stay in Barcelona for the rest of our lives. Nothing should change even after finishing my career," L. Messi said.
When asked how long he sees himself in football, L. Messi added that he plans to play until at least 35-36 years old.
The Argentine had previously mentioned that before the end of his career he would like to return to his childhood club - "Newell's Old Boys". However, as the footballer admitted, family made him give up these plans.
"I always dreamed of playing there," said the striker. - I would like to feel Argentine football, which is so different from other countries. But now I have to think more about family, not individual goals."
