Argentine national team captain Lionel Messi set new records after a 2-0 victory against Canada in the Copa America tournament.

The 36-year-old Argentine became the player with the most matches played in this tournament - 35.

L. Messi also became the first Argentine player to participate in seven Copa America tournaments. He started his journey in this tournament in 2007.

One of the best players on the planet also made an assist to Lautaro Martinez, marking his 28th assist when combining Copa America and World Cup tournaments.
