Lionel Messi had a great weekend - the Argentine received his "Golden Boot" and yesterday was also awarded a new contract at Barcelona.
During the Golden Boot award ceremony on Friday, Messi, interviewed by the Spanish newspaper Marca, also talked about his relationship with his biggest rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
When asked if in the future, when both players retire, they could become friends, Messi replied: "I really don't know. Friendship is created when you spend a lot of time together and know each other well."
"There is no friendship between us. It happens because we practically only meet during award ceremonies. That's the only place where we talk a little bit with each other.
Everything between us is fine, but our lives don't intersect very often, so there are no relationships," Messi spoke about the behind-the-scenes of the greatest competitive rivalry in football history.
