"Goal" website's best player of the year, Luka Modrić, believes that Madrid's "Real" can still turn their season around.
The "Whites" started the season not badly, but in October they faced one of the most tragic series in the club's history and inevitably changed the coach. After a series of losses, there was immediately talk that "Real" would not compete for the most important titles this season, but the game has improved recently, and the chances to fight for the titles are still good.
L. Modrić admits that it was difficult to get into the season at the start, but he feels that the team is on the right track.
"All we want is to improve our game", said L. Modrić. - We must not forget that titles are usually decided by how you finish at the end of the season".
"We hope to finish the season with a few trophies won, but before that, we need to improve many aspects of our game. We have a new coach, so I have no doubt that we will improve a bit and have a good season", said the Croat.
Asked whether the team can fight for a fourth consecutive UEFA Champions League title, L. Modrić remained confident: "In football, nothing is impossible, especially when playing for Madrid's "Real" club.
What we have done in the last three years is something incredible. I think winning for the fourth time in a row is not something unattainable. We intend to give our all.
We must aim for our goal by being humble and respecting other opponents, as this tournament becomes more competitive every year. But as I said, we will do everything to achieve our goal. We have already shown more than once that we can do what is unexpected of us", concluded L. Modrić.
