Madrid's "Real" defender and "Golden Ball" winner Luka Modrić criticized former laureates Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for not appearing at the prestigious ceremony.
According to the Croatian, this is a sign of disrespect.
"I cannot say why someone did not come - that is their choice. Is it logical or not?
This means that only those trophies are valued when they are received themselves.
However, such a gesture is unfair to their playing colleagues, the voters who have nominated these footballers for the past decade.
Nevertheless, I will repeat - everyone acts as they see fit," Modrić reassured.
