The best planet football player Luka Modrić admits that both he and other players of Madrid's "Real" team are far from their usual level of play this season.
Madrid's "Real" suffered another painful defeat in the Spanish league and possibly ended any fight for the title. "The Whites" are currently forced to think not about the highest position, but about how to return to the top four.
"Many of us are not at our best level," - said the Croatian after the match. - We can no longer make the same mistakes at the very beginning of the game."
"We must not lie to ourselves and say that this happens because of bad luck. We create enough opportunities, but the ball just doesn't cross the goal line. We give everything in every game, but there are still certain reasons why we don't play well," - the defender continued.
Asked about refereeing, L. Modrić remained self-critical: "It wasn't the best day for him, but our problem is not the referees or VAR. Of course, in some episodes this technology could have helped us, but the problems are much deeper."
Despite already having a 10-point deficit behind "Barcelona", the Croatian does not promise to give up the fight for the title: "We are not at our best in this season, so we can only continue to improve our game.
After such defeats, we have to be even closer as a team. We cannot think that the league has already been lost - we have to continue marching from game to game."
