28-year-old London "Arsenal" newcomer Lucas Perez, playing in an attacking position, stated in an interview that he expected to get more playing time when he arrived at the club.
"Arsenal" acquired the experienced striker last summer for 20 million euros from La Coruna's "Deportivo". It was expected that he would compete with Olivier Giroud, but L. Perez not only has to fight for a place with the Frenchman, but also with Alexis Sanchez, who now plays in a central attacking position.
"When I first arrived here, I expected to get more playing time," Lucas Perez told "Onda Cero" radio journalists.
"My teammates in my position are doing a great job. We won seven games in a row, so it's normal that the coach sticks with the lineup that brings the best results.
Of course, I hoped to play more, but now I just have to wait and make the best of the opportunities that the coach gives me," added L. Perez.
The forward has not yet played a full match in the Premier League or Champions League, but he has already utilized his chance in the English League Cup - he scored two goals in one match.
