Brazilian national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed the names of the 23 footballers who will defend the country's honor in the 2014 World Cup.

It was expected, but there was no place in the team for Ricardo Kaka, Ronaldinho, and Robinho. PSG defender Lucas Moura will also not play for his homeland.

Interestingly, L. Scolari decided not to include Atletico Madrid defenders Miranda and Filipe Luis in the squad, despite their important roles in the team this season.

Brazil will be the first to kick off the World Cup. In Group A, they will face Mexico, Cameroon, and Croatia, with the latter on June 12.

Brazilian national team composition:

  • Goalkeepers: Jefferson ("Botafogo"), Julio Cesar ("Toronto"), Victor ("Atletico Mineiro").
  • Defenders: Dante ("Bayern"), David Luiz ("Chelsea"), Henrique ("Napoli"), Thiago Silva (PSG), Dani Alves ("Barcelona"), Maicon ("Roma"), Marcelo ("Real Madrid"), Maxwell (PSG).
  • Midfielders: Fernandinho ("Manchester City"), Hernanes ("Inter"), Luiz Gustavo ("Wolfsburg"), Oscar ("Chelsea"), Paulinho ("Tottenham"), Ramires ("Chelsea"), Willian ("Chelsea").
  • Forwards: Bernard ("Shakhtar"), Fred ("Fluminense"), Hulk ("Zenit"), Jo ("Atletico Mineiro"), Neymar ("Barcelona").
