However, the beginning of the match did not promise anything bad for the English - in the 2nd minute, Luke Shaw sent the ball into the goal, putting his team ahead. The English defender with this strike also set a record at the European Championships - scored the fastest goal in the final in the entire history of the tournament. L. Shaw's shot crossed the goal line just 1 minute and 57 seconds after kick-off.
