On Friday Uruguay and Ghana will face each other in the knockout rounds. These are teams connected by the history of the World Cup.

In 2010, one of the most famous World Cup quarterfinals took place, where Uruguay defeated the representatives of Africa after an 11-meter penalty shootout.

At that time, Luis Suarez became a controversial hero, as he prevented Ghana from scoring a crucial goal with a handball during extra time. The striker received a red card, and Asamoah Gyan, who was standing at the 11-meter mark, did not create a historic moment for Africa.

Before the second meeting of these teams in 12 years, L. Suarez was asked to apologize for his illegal action during a press conference.

"I did not handle that 11-meter penalty. It is not my fault. Maybe I could apologize only if I had injured a player," replied the experienced striker.

Uruguay won the penalty shootout 4:2 and advanced to the World Cup semifinals.

Meanwhile, a journalist revealed to Luis Suarez that he is considered the devil himself in Ghana, after the 2010 episode.

The meeting of these teams will start on Friday at 5 PM.
