L. Suarez: "I cried when the bite scandal didn't scare the "Barcelona" team"

Uruguayan national team star Luis Suarez remembers the 2014 World Cup very well, when he lost control and bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.

At that time, the sniper was at risk of not moving from "Liverpool" to "Barcelona" club and he was pleasantly surprised when he received encouraging calls from the Catalans.

"Contacted Josep Guardiola urged not to worry about the strict punishment and assured that they still want to buy out the contract.

Director Andoni Zubizarreta also supported the connection and after one conversation I couldn't hold back the tears - I just couldn't believe that "Barca" still wanted my services.

It was a great motivation to return to the football field," Suarez said.

The prolific player spoke about the period when he couldn't defend the colors of his new team for several months due to disqualification.

"Sometimes I remember those days when I was training alone in the gym and was forced to answer my daughter's questions about why I couldn't play. I told her the whole truth," he said.
