One of the leaders of "Barcelona" Luis Suarez admits that he never even thought he would play in a "El Clasico" duel.
The 28-year-old footballer arrived from "Liverpool" to "Barca" last summer. Due to disqualification, the Uruguayan had to miss the beginning of the season, but his first game wearing the Catalan jersey was against Madrid's "Real" club. However, his debut was not successful and the Catalans lost 3-1.
"I never could have imagined that I would play in such a big match like 'El Clasico'," said the Uruguayan national team member. "I was very nervous when my first game was exactly in this clash."
"But these matches were very important to me. 'El Clasico' needs to be enjoyed, and at that time I didn't do that. Hopefully, today I can do that," the striker said.
Having scored 13 goals in 26 matches, L. Suarez also talked about his importance to the team: "I am very happy in Barcelona and I feel that I am needed by the team to achieve better results."
Today, the second "El Clasico" duel of this season at the "Camp Nou" stadium will start at 22:00 Lithuanian time.
