L. van Gaal: Mourinho's "Man United" is significantly more boring than mine.

According to Louis van Gaal, under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, "Manchester United" appears significantly more boring than when he himself was at the helm.

The "Red Devils" lost the Manchester derby over the weekend and are now 11 points behind the "Premier" league leaders, "Man City".

Although second place in the league table is a better result than van Gaal's achievements, Mourinho's defensive style has been criticized by him.

"If you were to ask me how "United" was doing, I would say that, considering the circumstances I worked under, those were the best years of my life," van Gaal told "Fox Sports Netherlands".

"However, looking at "United" now, I have to conclude that Mourinho is not being criticized, even though it is much more boring football."

"What "United" is demonstrating now is defensive football. I have always played attacking football. The evidence is that opponents always parked the bus."

"They don't do that anymore, because Jose Mourinho plays a very defensive style."

Van Gaal further criticized the "Red Devils" by stating that it would be better to watch the performances of their main competitors.

"I would rather watch "City" play than "United"," added the Dutchman.

"Quality is needed in the squad, and it is clear that "City" has a better squad."
