69-year-old Louis van Gaal is returning from retirement - the strategist will take over the Netherlands national team for the third time, according to the very reliable Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. The last time the Dutchman worked as a coach was in 2016, when he coached Manchester United, but it was not the most successful period for this specialist and he stayed there for only 2 years. This will be the third time L. van Gaal stands at the helm of the Netherlands national team. Previously, he coached the "flying Dutchmen" from 2000-2002 and from 2012-2014. In the 2014 World Cup, the strategist led the Dutch to the semi-finals, where they lost to the Argentine national team after a penalty shootout, and in the match for bronze, they defeated the host Brazilian national team. In March 2019, L. van Gaal officially announced that he was ending his coaching career, but now it seems that a new chapter has begun and this legendary Dutch specialist is coming out of retirement.
