Netherlands national team coach Louis van Gaal has revealed that he is suffering from a serious illness. The 70-year-old Dutchman told his country's television that he has been battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer for some time. However, the former Manchester United manager remains positive and is ready to overcome the illness. "I haven't told my players about this yet, because it could affect their decision-making and game. I thought it would be better if they didn't know. People usually do not die from prostate cancer, but there are other very dangerous side effects. Nevertheless, my form of cancer is aggressive enough. I have already undergone 25 radiation procedures. Such procedures require a lot of strength. I used to enter the hospital through the back door so that no one would notice me. I want to thank the incredible medical team for their work. I have told my family and friends about the illness. I'm glad that this information has not been leaked to the public yet," L. van Gaal said.
