L. van Gaal: Winning against "Wolfsburg" was simply impossible

The head coach of "Manchester United" Louis van Gaal spoke about the sensational end to the UEFA Champions League journey and stated that in the last matches it was simply impossible for them to win.

The "Red Devils" lost 2-3 to "Wolfsburg" away, and PSV Eindhoven's victory pushed "Man Utd" out of second place and into the quarterfinals.

L. van Gaal claimed that they had plenty of great opportunities to score against the "wolves," but the opponents played just as well.

"I think these were crazy matches," - said the coach. - We had chances, but so did the opponents."

"When we scored a goal, they did too. Additionally, Wolfsburg's winning goal came just two minutes after we had equalized. We had good chances to win this game, we tried and fought, but we just couldn't do more than we did," - added the Dutchman.

Media reports speculate that after "Man Utd" falling out of the Champions League, L. van Gaal may lose his job, and interim head coach duties until the end of the season could be taken over by Ryan Giggs.
