"Manchester United" strategist Louis van Gaal says he wants to strengthen the team during the winter transfer window, but acknowledges that it will be more difficult to do so than in the summer.
Before tomorrow's match at home against London's "West Ham", the "Red Devils" are in third place in the English championship and are only a few points behind the leader "Manchester City", but the team's coach is constantly criticized for the overly static offense.
During the last nine games, the team scored only seven goals and, on top of that, is plagued by injuries.
"We cannot afford to have many injured players. However, we have both short-term and long-term injured players, so that is our main problem", said van Gaal.
"We are looking for (players - ed.) but, as you know, it is more difficult to buy something in January. Nothing is clear yet."
The Dutchman also revealed that in the mentioned match against "West Ham" and in the UEFA Champions League clash with "Wolfsburg", captain Wayne Rooney will not be able to play, and Marcos Rojo will be out of the lineup due to a shoulder injury.
