"La Liga" 7th round: Saturday © EuroFootball.com

Last night, three out of ten matches of the seventh round of the Spanish Championship ("La Liga") were played. Two of these matches ended with victories of the favorites, while Madrid's "Real" played a draw with Seville's "Real Betis."

La Coruna's 2 - 1 16' [1 - 0] 70' [2 - 0] 90' [2 - 1] Mario Cotelo Guttierez

Although the season started tragically for La Coruna's team, it now seems that they are starting to recover and get involved in the title race. In yesterday's match in front of 26 thousand spectators, "Deportivo" defeated the guests by 2-1 and secured their third victory of the season, but the first one at home.

The first goal was scored by Sergio after Valeron's pass from the center of the field. Receiving the ball about eight meters from the goal, he deceived the goalkeeper, who jumped in the opposite direction, and scored. It is worth mentioning that "Getafe" hit the goal for the first time in the 67th minute of the match. "Deportivo" doubled the result in the 70th minute when after an error by the Argentine defender Pernia, Capdevila crossed the ball to Victor in the penalty area, and he just had to send the ball into the net with his head. However, Victor did not celebrate this goal because he himself is from Getafe. Cotelo slightly reduced the result in the 90th minute by beating the "SuperDeporo" goalkeeper Molina with a penalty kick.

Seville 1 - 1 Madrid 30' [1 - 0] 65' [1 - 1]

In front of 42 thousand spectators, the determined "Betis" footballers played a draw with the crisis-hit Madrid "Real" team. The goal was scored during a counterattack when Edu's pass with his right foot directed towards the goal was converted by Brazilian Ricardo Oliveira who arrived from "Valencia" this summer. Although "Betis" attacked a lot, the skills were demonstrated by the Spanish national team goalkeeper Iker Casillas. In the 65th minute, Ronaldo, who has been voted FIFA World Player three times, proved why he deserves these titles: the Brazilian passed the ball to Zidane, who pulled the defenders towards himself and passed the ball back to the more open Brazilian, who scored a goal with a shot from the penalty area line. Considering how "Betis" showed a more impressive game throughout the first half, while "Real" dominated the second, a draw seems like a fair result. Now, after seven rounds, "Real" has an unusual record for them: three wins, three losses, and a draw. Because of these results, the head coach of the team, Jose Antonio Camacho, has already been dismissed.

Barcelona 0 - 1 9' [0 - 1]

A goal scored by Deco after a ricochet was the only one in this intense Barcelona derby. In the ninth minute of the match, Samuel Eto'o passed the ball to the Portuguese born in Brazil, Deco, whose shot hit the back of "Espanyol" player Morales and flew over goalkeeper Kameni's head. In this match, from the first to the last minute, "Espanyol" had opportunities to equalize, but failed to score a goal.
