"Marca" reports that from the next season, referees in Spain will earn the most in the world. Referees working in the highest football division will receive a 53 percent increase in salary - their annual wage will reach 296 thousand euros.
Their assistants' salaries will increase even more - by 61 percent.
Referees in the lower division, of course, will not receive impressive sums for their work on the field, but their salaries have also increased by an impressive percentage - the salary for the main match referee will increase by 67 percent, and for his assistants - even by 82 percent.
Before this season, "La Liga" signed very profitable contracts with various advertising companies, but the biggest loss for Spanish football will be the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, who, together with Lionel Messi, attracted all the attention and interest of the leagues.
