"La Liga" organizers have sprung into action.
Last weekend, referee Munuera Montero sent off Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham during the match against Osasuna. According to the media, the referee may have misunderstood the Englishman's words.
"I am speaking to you respectfully. Get lost... I regret," the press deciphered J. Bellingham's words.
Later, the referee intensely explained to the Real players the reasons for his decision and insisted that he heard the phrase "shut up."
As reported by the Spanish media, M. Montero has already lost the opportunity to officiate in the upcoming championship round due to an ongoing investigation.
Moreover, it appears that the Spaniard may have quietly founded a consultancy and sports management company that works with "La Liga," Ligue 1, Premier League clubs, and UEFA.
If M. Montero's guilt is proven, he could face a fine of up to 100,000 euros and a five-year ban from officiating.
