Lampard: experienced footballers cannot simply be written off © EuroFootball.com

Frank Lampard has no intention of leaving the London club and insists that getting rid of experienced footballers too quickly could have negative consequences.

Lately, there have been talks about the necessity to rejuvenate the English team. Concrete steps have already been taken: striker Nicolas Anelka moved to China, while defender Alex has not been training with the main team for some time.

Among the candidates to leave the team, Lampard, as well as Florent Malouda, Didier Drogba, and captain John Terry, are mentioned.

"We need experienced players, like Terry, who defended amazingly in the match against Wolverhampton. The backbone of the team has been built over the last seven years. I think this is very important,"- 33-year-old Lampard told the "London Evening Standard."

"Of course, changes are happening and that's normal, but we shouldn't destroy the core. It's nice to see older players who help win matches. I am loyal - Chelsea is my club," he added.
