The president of the leaders of the Spanish championship, Joan Laporta, told journalists that there is nothing agreed with Dutchman Mark van Bommel from Eindhoven. J. Laporta also stated that the current Catalan club's goalkeeper Gerard will be offered to extend his contract in the near future.

Mark van Bommel has been actively linked to "Barcelona" for some time now, but the club's president stated that no specific steps have been taken by the club for the player's acquisition: "He is a great player, but so far there is nothing concrete about his move to 'Barcelona'."

J. Laporta added that a new contract will be offered to the Spaniard Gerard, who, according to the media, would have left the Catalan club after the season when his current contract expires.

Speaking to journalists, J. Laporta also commented on the upcoming Sunday match with "Real," called "El Clasico": "I am completely calm. Football is changing and that's why 'Real' have been considered weaker than us recently, but we should not be fooled. Nevertheless, they will face more pressure - they will play at home and if they lose, they will lose all hopes of fighting for the title."
