Las Vegas police reopened the case in which C. Ronaldo is accused of rape

The Las Vegas city police reopened a nearly 10-year-old case and decided to renew it. The main suspect in the case is the football player, 33-year-old Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. The athlete is accused of assault, wrote lrytas.lt.

34-year-old Kathryn Mayorga claims that she was assaulted by the football player in a Las Vegas hotel.

According to the woman, this happened on June 12, 2009. The footballer was on vacation with his half-brothers at the time.

The American woman claimed that for nine years she did not speak about the incident because C. Ronaldo paid her 375,000 US dollars to keep quiet.

To the German newspaper "Spiegel," she revealed that she was assaulted anally. As K. Mayorga herself claimed, she asked him to stop, but the footballer was relentless. "Spiegel" reported that C. Ronaldo himself does not deny having had a relationship with the woman accusing him for years, but claims that the American woman had consensual sex with him.

Later, the footballer called the news that came out "fabricated" and stated that he would take action against false accusations.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas city police dismissed the 2009 accusation against K. Mayorga due to lack of evidence, but now with additional information, the case will be reopened.

"At that time, the victim did not provide detailed information about the location of the crime and the description of the suspect, but in September 2018, the case was reopened, with additional information received," – said the police statement.
