The first round match of "Serie A" in Rome between the teams of "Lazio" and "Napoli" was overshadowed by scandal.
The home club's fans, who are not for the first time making headlines, started distributing flyers with a warning for women not to approach the closest fans in the "Curva Nord" sector.
"Curva Nord" marks a sacred place where unwritten rules apply.
The first three rows are reserved for ultras and cannot be occupied by women, people, or girls invited to watch football from the tenth row.
Those fans who choose the stadium as an alternative to Rome's Villa Borghese gardens should move to other sectors," the statement reads.
The "Lazio" team immediately announced that they do not support such ideas and are against discrimination.
