Frank Lampard claims that London's "Chelsea" team will have a bright future if they have more performances like the one against "Liverpool."
Having experienced a painful defeat in his debut match, F. Lampard found strength and motivation in the second match at the helm of "Chelsea" and narrowly missed out on their first trophy. The "Blues" were defeated by "Liverpool" in a penalty shootout in the UEFA Super Cup.
"If this is a signal of what we can do this season, then I am very happy," said F. Lampard after the dramatic loss. "I think everyone saw that we put on a great performance against a team that has been built year after year, while I have only been with this 'Chelsea' for six weeks."
When asked if the fact that "Liverpool" had more time to rest could have been a disadvantage for his team, F. Lampard did not hide that it somewhat complicated their situation.
"It's obvious that our preparation wasn't smooth because we played a match in Manchester on Sunday evening. The 'Liverpool' team had an advantage, but these things happen and I certainly don't want to complain about it. I don't believe we lost because we had less rest," added F. Lampard.
