Irish defender Jonny Evans has extended his contract with Leicester, which will now be valid for another season and a half. His current contract with the club was set to expire this summer. The former Manchester United defender joined Leicester in 2018 and has played a total of 87 matches. "This is a club I didn’t want to leave. I enjoyed my time here and I’m pleased to extend my contract," said J. Evans. The defender has become an integral part of Brendan Rodgers' team. Last season, he helped the team qualify for the Europa League. "Since I arrived at the club, I could see that they set really high standards. The club invests a lot in training facilities, and there are plans to redevelop the stadium in the near future. I think everyone was happy with how I played. I'm happy to be at the club," said J. Evans when signing the contract.
