"Sky Sports" reported this morning that "Manchester United" beat "Manchester City" in the race for Harry Maguire's signature and were the first to make an official offer to "Leicester City" club.
As it turned out a few hours later, 78 million euros were not enough for "Leicester" team - the first attempt by "Man Utd" to acquire the center-back was unsuccessful.
According to "Sky Sports", "Leicester" will sell H. Maguire if the offer exceeds the record amount paid for Virgil van Dijk, when "Liverpool" acquired him for almost 84 million euros.
"Manchester City" is also seriously interested in the services of the English national team defender, but they are not willing to spend that much money.
It is unclear at the moment whether "Man Utd" will try to improve the offer. Alternatives to H. Maguire are considered to be Toby Alderweireld and Ruben Dias.
