On Saturday in the German Bundesliga, the 18th round of matches was played.
Perhaps the most interesting match took place in Leipzig, where the local team "Leipzig" clashed with second-placed Gelzenkirchen's "Schalke". The German champions started successfully after the New Year - they defeated their opponents 3-1.
In the 41st minute, Naby Keita put the opponents ahead, even though a few minutes earlier "Leipzig" had missed an 11-meter penalty. In the 55th minute, "Schalke" equalized, but "Leipzig" responded shortly after.
In the 69th minute, Timo Werner regained the lead, and Bruma's strike in the 71st minute secured the victory.
The remaining matches ended with victories for "Augsburg", "Hannover", and "Stuttgart", while two matches ended in draws.
