L.Enrique: Judges need help

„Barcelona“ fans will remember Sunday for a long time. Some have already cursed January 30th. The famous Catalan team scored two goals during the Spanish league match, but one of them was not counted, even though everyone saw - the referees clearly made a mistake. The away match with „Betis“ ended 1:1. After this incident, there is again a loud discussion in Spain about the need to implement goal-line technology, writes lrytas.lt.

„Ghost goal“, as literally called in English, is the goal that "Barcelona" scored in the 79th minute. However, the referee decided that the ball did not cross the line. After a few seconds, numerous photos and videos were already circulating online, where it is clearly seen - the Catalans were robbed.

For "Barcelona" team and fans this is a big blow, as the team is still trying to catch up with Madrid's "Real" club.

After 20 rounds, "Barcelona" has 42 points, while "Real" after 19 matches - 46. So it is easy to understand how important the points were in these races.

„I have nothing to say. And don't talk to me about what it looks like. I saw the picture. Technology can help. I have said this before. Referees really need help“, said "Barcelona" coach Luis Enrique.

"La Liga" has considered implementing goal-line technology, but league president Javier Tebas said last year that having it is simply too expensive. UEFA has paid about 62 million euros over five years to use this technology in European tournaments.
