Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director, Leonardo, confirmed that the club is not in negotiations for the extension of Kylian Mbappe's contract.
K. Mbappe, who has two more years left on his contract with Paris, will remain with the team for next season, but there is a high likelihood that the Frenchman will want to change teams already next summer. Considering that next summer Mbappe will have only one year left on his contract, PSG will likely have to negotiate.
When asked if extending Mbappe's contract is a priority for the club, Leonardo replied: "I can't say if it's a priority or not. Mbappe is here, he is very important for the club and there are no rumors about his future."
"He arrived with great positivity and a smile at the first training session on Monday. He is very charismatic and beloved by people. It is very important for us to have players like him," Leonardo added.
When asked if PSG fans can expect the player's contract to be extended, Leonardo added: "I never promise anything for two reasons: first, I am not the only person making decisions in this club, and second - I don't want to promise something out of thin air when I'm not sure if I can actually keep it."
