Unsuccessfully returning to the highest league of Spain, Valencia suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat in the city derby on Saturday, which led the Valencia team to decide to dismiss Juan Ramon Lopez Caro from his position as head coach.

"Following the recent results, Levante decided to change the coach, who has been leading the team since July," - it was reported on the official club's website.

The club also announced that a press conference will be held on Monday at 20:00 Lithuanian time.

Valencia's team has only achieved one victory in the last 10 matches in the Spanish championship and the King's Cup, dropping to 17th place in the La Liga table.

Lopez Caro took over Levante in July after suddenly leaving Racing Santander, where he had joined in June. Before that, he temporarily coached Real Madrid.

At Real Madrid, Lopez Caro was the coach of the youth team, but in December 2005, after the dismissal of Brazilian Vanderlei Luxemburgo, he became the head coach of Real, helping them finish in second place in the Spanish championship.

The Spanish club also announced that defender Alvaro will be out of the squad for a month due to injury. The Brazilian suffered an injury in Saturday's match against Valencia when he collided with his team's goalkeeper, Jose Francisco Molina.
