On Monday, the draw for the Hegelmann LFF Cup took place at the Lithuanian Football Federation headquarters in Vilnius, where the eight teams competing for the trophy were paired up.
Five clubs from the "Optibet A League" participated in the draw - Vilnius "Žalgiris", Marijampolė "Sūduva", "Panevėžys", Kaunas region "Hegelmann Litauen", Telšiai "Džiugas", as well as two representatives from the LFF First League - FA "Šiauliai" and Plungė "Babrungas", and the only remaining team from the LFF II League - FK "Garliava".
The draw was conducted by the head coach of the Lithuanian national team for boys (up to 19 years old) Valdas Ivanauskas, and the quarterfinal pairings were determined as follows:
FK "Garliava" - Kaunas region "Hegelmann Litauen";
Marijampolė "Sūduva" - Vilnius "Žalgiris";
Plungė "Babrungas" - FA "Šiauliai";
Telšiai "Džiugas" - FK "Panevėžys".
It is planned that the quarterfinal matches will be played in the second half of August. The final of the cup tournament will take place on October 23 in Šiauliai.
