LFF II league: at the top - a triple tie, waiting for the start of the B division

After a week break, the teams of the LFF II league returned to the stadiums and played another eight matches, in which five teams achieved their second victories, while five suffered their second defeats. Two matches ended in a draw, marking the first two instances in this season where the winner was not determined.

Top Ten

Even though only two rounds have been played, initial conclusions about the favorites can already be made. Three teams - "TransINVEST" B, "Žalgiris" B, and "Jonava" - managed to score at least ten goals in just 180 minutes. It is no surprise that all three teams are currently leading the tournament standings.

"TransINVEST" B claimed their second win against the "Širvėna" club. The team from Biržai, enriched with well-known names in Lithuanian football, was no match for the representatives from Vilnius district, who showed accuracy with their shots on goal. Robertas Ratkevičius scored a brace.

The footballers of "Žalgiris" B, who knocked out their opponents in the first round, started the second round with great success against "Neptūnas" B. Within just 20 minutes, Meinardas Mikulėnas had already scored two goals. However, the similarities with the first round ended there. In the middle of the second half, Martynas Velyvis converted a penalty to equalize, but they failed to secure the victory.

Among the top ten teams is also the "Jonava" club, which managed to score five goals against Telšiai's "Džiugas" B in just 55 minutes. Among the goal scorers is Marius Ganusauskas, whose accurate goal allows him to hold the title of the league's top scorer.

Draws

In the second round that started on Friday, neither of the two matches ended with a winner. "Sūduva" B, fighting for promotion to a higher division, played a 1:1 draw with "Dainava" B, while Klaipėda FM and Joniškio "Saned" separated without goals.

After Justas Česnavičius scored from a penalty, the players from Sūduva managed to take the lead, but later allowed their opponents to equalize and take a point back to Marijampolė.

In Klaipėda, not a single goal was scored in the LFF II league matches for the first time this season, which should be encouraging for the visitors from Joniškis.

Sanctioned Teams

Due to unmet licensing requirements, the teams from Kybartai "Sveikata" and Panevėžio "Dembava" had three points deducted. In other words, both of these teams started with a deficit, but this weekend both of them secured their second wins of the season. Without those deducted points, both clubs would be in the leaders' group.

Kybartai defeated Kaunas "Fortūna" 4:1, while "Dembava" won 5:2 against "Ukmergė". Despite convincing final scores, both winners had a tough time - "Sveikata" only managed to create a two-goal lead in the 75th minute, and "Dembava" won the first half 3:2.

B Division

This weekend, only the newly created LFF II league B division matches will start. Seven teams will compete in this division, two of which will earn the right to play in the main II league division next season. Similarly, two teams will be relegated from A division to B division.

List of participants: "Hegelmann" C, "Be1" B, "Nemunas" (Prienai), "Sirijus" (Klaipėda), "Utenis" Utena, "Garliava" B, and "Tauras" B.

The championship will be held in a three-round system, with each team playing 18 matches. In the first round, the matches will be: "Hegelmann" C - "Utenis" (May 3, 20:00), "Garliava" B - "Sirijus" (May 4, 14:00), "Tauras" B - "Be 1" B (May 5, 15:00).

Upcoming Round

Returning to the main division battles, the third round matches will be played over eight days. This weekend, "Sveikata" will seek their third victory in Ukmergė, while Alytus will host "Šilutė" in their quest for a win.

One of the most interesting matches of this part of the season awaits in a week, where the teams of "Dembava" and "TransINVEST" B, both with two victories, will face each other.
