"Ligue 1" kickoff - PSG victory and hard-earned draw with "Monaco" (VIDEO)

On Friday evening, the new 2016-17 "Ligue 1" season started in France.

The opening match saw the country's champions, Paris "Saint-Germain" and "Bastia" football players, face off. The team coached by Unai Emery had difficulties on the road, but managed to secure a narrow victory as the match approached its end.

PSG dominated possession throughout the entire match, but breaking through the opponent's defense proved to be quite challenging. However, in the 74th minute, a decisive goal was scored when Layvin Kurzawa, the first defender to rush towards the ball after Jese Rodriguez's attempt, sent the ball into the opponents' net in an acrobatic style.

In the other match, "Monaco" played against "Guingamp". The latter had a two-goal advantage in this duel, but showing character towards the end of the match, Monaco players managed to equalize the score at 2-2.

Playing on the road, "Guingamp" led 2-0 after the first half. However, in the second half, "Monaco" showed resilience and goals from Fabinho and Bernardo Silva brought the first points.
