Ligue 1: "Lyon" victory against "Reims" and interrupted match (PHOTO, VIDEO)

Five French league matches were scheduled to start yesterday evening, but only four were completed. The match in Nice between the local club and Nantes was interrupted due to an impressive storm.

The match was initially halted at the beginning of the second half with the score tied at 2-2. The referees then decided to wait and make a final decision after 45 minutes. Eventually, the match was suspended, and the teams will have to replay the ninth round match starting with a 0-0 score.

To the joy of the fans, the situation was better in other stadiums. In the first match of the day, the country's vice-champion Lyon narrowly defeated Reims footballers and climbed to fifth place in the standings, nudging their opponents down a spot.

The only goal was also scored by Lyon's attacking leader Alexandre Lacazette, who failed to convert an eleven-meter penalty kick.

Later, newly promoted Angers defeated Bastia, temporarily climbing to second place and coming within two points of championship leader Paris Saint-Germain.
