Ligue 1: "Monaco" and PSG celebrate hard-fought victories (VIDEO)

Today marked the beginning of the 24th round of the French championship and three matches were played. The club "Saint-Etienne", currently holding fifth place, temporarily equaled with "Bordeaux", after defeating "Caen" 4-0 as the away team. Diego Rolanas opened the scoring for the visitors, later Francois Kamano scored twice, and Jaroslavas Plašilas ultimately secured the victory. The league table leader "Monaco" struggled as the away team against "Montpellier". The match was closely contested, as indicated by the match statistics. Nonetheless, Leonardo Jardimo's players managed to take three points in the first half thanks to their early advantage. This advantage was provided to them by Kamil Glik, who scored with a header after a penalty kick in the 16th minute, and five minutes later Kylian Mbappe successfully completed a counterattack. The result of the later match continued to keep the suspense in the title race, as one of Monaco's pursuers, "Paris Saint-Germain", defeated "Lille". As usual, the Parisians dominated possession, but their opponents managed to defend for a long time. Edinson Cavani eventually put PSG ahead in the 70th minute, but Nicolas De Preville equalized with a strike from outside the penalty area. This happened in the 86th minute, so it seemed like the match would end in a draw. However, Lucas Moura was able to save the home team with a goal, allowing Unai Emery's side to remain just two points behind Monaco's footballers. Results: "Caen" 0 - 4 "Bordeaux" "Montpellier" 1 - 2 "Monaco" "Paris Saint-Germain" 2 - 1 "Lille"
