On Sunday, three more matches of the French championship took place.
The middle-of-the-table team "Toulouse" scored in the second half and defeated "Angers" at home with a score of 4-0, who after the defeat fell into the relegation zone. Among the winners were Andy Delort, Martin Braithwaite, Oscar Trejo, and Ola Toivonen.
One place below Toulouse, "Nancy" had to surrender to "Nantes" in an away match. The victory for the visitors was ensured by accurate shots from Issiar Dia and Julien Cetout.
Finally, in the evening matches, the teams "Saint-Etienne" and "Lyon" faced off, with the first unexpectedly celebrating victory. Although playing away, Lyon's players controlled the ball for a long time. However, the outcome of the match was decided before the end of the first half.
In the ninth minute, Kevin Monnet-Paquet opened the scoring for "Saint-Etienne," and shortly after, Romain Hamouma doubled the lead. The hosts managed to maintain this advantage until the end of the match, and in the final minutes, Lyon representatives Rachid Ghezzal and Corentin Tolisso were sent off for violent actions.
This victory allows them to close the gap with the opponents of the night to the fourth position by just one point. However, they have played one fewer match.
