Newly announced in the FIFA World national team rankings, although losing two points, Lithuania remained in 94th place.

Brazil, who is in first place, further increased their lead, winning the Confederations Cup and earning 17 points. Germany, who finished third in that tournament, earned 28 points and jumped over ten positions to 11th place.

The USA national team climbed four places to sixth place, but the biggest jump was made by the Panama national team, rising 15 places to 83rd place.

Latvia's neighbors fell one place to 65th place, while Estonia remained in 82nd place.

Lithuania's opponents in the seventh round of qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Spain, rose one place to eighth place, which they share with England. The national team of Serbia and Montenegro remained in 49th place, Bosnia and Herzegovina's national team climbed one step to 77th place, and Belgium dropped three places to 50th place. San Marino dropped one place to 162nd place.
