The latest FIFA planet football team rankings announced that the Lithuanian national team earned three ranking points in a month and remained in 98th place. In the ranking, the world champion Brazil still holds first place, losing three points this month. Czech Republic remained in second place, followed by Argentina in third. European champion Greece is in twelfth place. Lithuania still lags far behind its other Baltic neighbors. Latvia maintained 65th place, while Estonia moved up to share 81st place with Lithuania's World Cup qualifying rival Bosnia and Herzegovina. Another opponent of the Lithuanian national team, Spain, dropped down to eighth place. Belgium also lost one position and now occupies 42nd place.
